Travel preparation for passengers in wheelchairs

On an urban/metropolitan journey, as no prior reservation is required, it is not necessary for the passenger to go to the stop where the service starts in advance.

Please remember to inform the bus driver of your intention to board the bus.

As a general rule, an accessible journey for PRM in wheelchairs requires the following elements:

  • Accessible bus with lifting ramp for wheelchair users to board and spaces for PRM in wheelchairs that have been permanently fitted out. While such spaces may be used occasionally by other passengers (e.g. standing passengers), they are for the preferential use of wheelchair users.
Line 505 Zaragoza-Airport vehicles have two spaces reserved for PRM in wheelchairs located next to the central door. To use them, the wheelchair user must position themselves rearward-facing and use the support board and the seat belt provided.
Here you will find more information on the requirements your wheelchair must meet to travel in the space provided.

  • Drivers who have detailed procedures and instructions for all stages of the journey and all types of services and vehicles.

  • Accessible stop/bay. In order to be able to use the bus access ramp, the bus stop must meet certain minimum dimensions.
Therefore, due to the physical limitations of some stops or stations, for which Alsa is not responsible, it is possible that at some points we may not be able to offer you an accessible service. We are working to ensure that the entities responsible update these areas as soon as possible to make them suitable for everyone.

For your part, you need to make sure that your wheelchair complies with the access restrictions for travelling in the space reserved for PRM in wheelchairs. Please check if this is the case.

If you have any other needs or circumstances that you feel are important for us to know about, please let our staff know when boarding.
